Patients who are at the point where an organ transplant is necessary are often on disability or not working. It is often difficult enough to meet their daily living expenses and adding the cost of a hotel room or apartment in Vancouver for their recovery, which can take up to 3 months, can be an insurmountable expense. This is where we, at the HTHS, are able to help.

The funds to maintain HTHS housing comes directly from donations and from our annual fundraising events and appeals. Unfortunately, due to COVID, we were not able to hold any major fundraising events for two years, but our operating costs continued. To fill in the gap of in-person fundraisers, the HTHS has opted to hold online auctions. Your Cash Donations are greatly appreciated by those needing a heart transplant or ventricular assist device and their families. (97% of funds raised go to support the Heart Homes).
