	Pat Martin Bates Artwork "The Dance of The Whirling Women" (A Dance of Life). 1959 Size 10"X13" This artwork is a unique metal collage hybrid - on rare rag paper. Embedded with symbolic meanings - the signs of the times. Pat Martin Bates is a very well known Canadian artist and educator. She is one of our best-loved Victoria artists. In recent years she has been the subject of two major shows at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria and a book. She was UVIC's first female professor. She is now 96 and still active. For our fundraiser she selected a piece from her personal collection - done by her 64 years ago - during the beatnik era!
