In 2020 the Sovereign Order of St John Victoria Commandery assisted 323 of Victoria’s most vulnerable seniors through Christmas with grocery gift cards. The grocery cards helped make Christmas a little brighter for those seniors who depend on greater Victoria Food Banks through out the year.

This year SOSJ Victoria is partnering with the Society of St Vincent de Paul again, as well as the Sooke Food Bank, to expand the reach of the Seniors Christmas Program. By making a donation and/or bidding on our mini-auction (auction items will be added throughout the 4 week campaign October 12 - November 10, and please remember that it's not about the value of the item, but the value of the impact you will be making :)), you are helping us reach our goal of bringing seasonal joy to over 420 Greater Victoria seniors that are struggling financially. This extra little bit helps lift them up and allows them to have holiday dinner, or perhaps buy special treats that they only get once a year, or to be able to pick up food items that they wouldn’t otherwise have access to.

Monetary donations through our cash appeal are eligible for a tax receipt, which will be issued in the beginning of 2022.

Should we surpass our fundraising goal of $30,000, you can be assured that any additional funds raised will be distributed by the SOSJ Victoria to the sick and poor in our community.
