Welcome to the inaugural Hermann’s Jazz Club Spring Online Auction, presented by the Arts on View Society. We have assembled an exciting collection of over 50 items donated by our musicians and other supporters, and are delighted to offer them to you for your bidding pleasure.
Hermann’s Jazz Club in Victoria opened in 1985 and is the longest continuously operating jazz club in Canada. Since its inception, the Club has hosted local, national and international artists thus providing the opportunity for the residents of Greater Victoria area and Vancouver Island to enjoy excellent live music and to gain a greater appreciation of jazz and the other genres of music. In addition, the Jazz Club has also welcomed high school bands and orchestras, as well as other emerging musicians, and given them the opportunity to develop and showcase their talents in front of a live audience.
In 2019, the Arts on View Society, a community focused non-profit organization assumed responsibility for the operations of Hermann’s Jazz Club. The Society has also recently introduced two additional performance venues at its View Street location, with the goal of developing a performing arts centre that can be utilized by a variety of musicians and other performing artists.
The Society needs your support to allow us to continue to operate Hermann’s and to provide affordable venues to the performing arts community in Victoria. We are committed to keeping live music thriving in Victoria, and hope that you will ‘bid big and bid often’ to help us keep that commitment!
