Cash Appeals Our Goal
1. Child & Youth Counselling
FUND-A-NEED: Help children and youth struggling with loss and grief.

Grief at any age is incredibly challenging, but for young people it can be even more isolating and overwhelming. Losing a parent, sibling, or loved one can significantly impact a child's emotional and cognitive development. Without grief-informed support, they may struggle with their mental health and have difficulty coping.

Victoria Hospice offers free, specialized Child and Youth Counselling to address this critical need. Young people process grief uniquely, making it essential for them to have dedicated support, especially when surviving family members are grappling with their own grief.

Your donation will directly fund counselling sessions for children and youth, ensuring more young people receive the support they desperately need.

Together, we can help these children process their loss and develop healthy coping skills for the future. Please donate today and make a lasting impact on a child's journey through grief.

Our goal is to raise $20,000 to fund over 130 counselling sessions this coming holiday season!

$1500 - supports a child on their journey through grief and loss
$500 - provides resources or parents & guardians struggling to support a child in grief
$150 - funds a counselling session for a grieving child this holiday season

3.Donate Now:The Gift of Music
The Music Therapy program at Victoria Hospice provides comfort and connection for patients and their families during their time on the Inpatient Unit.
Music therapy is not about sitting at the bedside strumming a guitar, says Certified Music Therapist Maryann Burrow.

Music therapists use a variety of strategies and interventions to address goals like reducing fear, anxiety, isolation, or increasing connection to self-identity, relaxation, and comfort. Interventions can include singing, music-assisted relaxation, instrument playing, personalized recordings, and much more.

In its non-threating approach, music therapy can be especially helpful in connecting with patients who are withdrawn or not ready to look at the realities of the end of life. It gives them opportunity to express their emotions and increases coping strategies. On multiple occasions, music therapy has given patients the safe holding space to pass away during sessions.

Music Therapy is 100% funded by donors like you. Your gift today will bring comfort when it’s needed most and is eligible for a full tax-receipt.
