Support the arts and celebrate Dance Victoria's 28th season of the World's Best Dance! An important aspect of Dance Victoria's annual fundraising efforts is our Online Auction. The Auction goes live on Oct. 22 and culminates following our 3rd annual IGNITE! event at Luxe Home Interiors. From the comfort of your home, we invite our supporters, friends, and dance-lovers far and wide to support world-class dance while bidding on exclusive items and experiences.
All proceeds from the Online Auction and IGNITE! live event benefit Dance Victoria’s artist support and community engagement programs, including our annual Artist Residency program in DV’s Quadra Village studios; free community masterclasses and movement workshops; and ticket access programs. Dance Victoria Society is a non-profit organization with the mission to cultivate a connection to dance by presenting and supporting diverse local, national, and international artists, and inspiring all communities through the magic of dance. Our vision is that everyone in Greater Victoria can experience the transformative power of world-class dance.
Please note: You do not have to attend IGNITE! to participate in the Online Auction.
IGNITE! A Dance Victoria Launch Party takes place on November 2, 7-10pm at Luxe Home Interiors. IGNITE! will feature a short performance by Vancouver-based contemporary and street dance artist Simran Sachar accompanied by live musician and dancer Sophia Sosa. Sachar is a masterful dancer in Waacking, an energetic dance form with roots in the '70s Los Angeles disco scene. The duo will perform an excerpt of "ACT TWENTY FIVE," a choreographic work channelled through the dance forms of Waacking and Contemporary.
Guests will enjoy a curated Wayward Distillery gin tasting and signature cocktail by Storied Wines and Spirits, while grooving to DJ Bill Stuart spinning all vinyl. Mouth-watering bites from local artisan suppliers including Chocolat & Co, The Whole Beast Artisan Salumeria, Little Piggy Catering and more, will be complemented by a variety of libations including wines from Emandare Vineyard.
